On May 25th 2020, Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) students collaborated with Thumbay University Hospital in providing free medical screening and counseling services to staff members of Ajman Bank, United Arab Emirates. The students provided services including blood pressure, blood sugar screening under direct supervision of a licensed clinical pharmacist and a nurse practitioner as well as appropriate patient counseling service in collaboration with Primary Care General Practitioner. The outreach also included blood sample collection by hospital nurse staff for discounted laboratory investigation and free dental consultation service.

For APPE students, this activity is part of their community outreach co-curriculum where they are encouraged to practice social accountability and advocacy for their pharmacy profession while also achieving their rotation outcomes.
