On January 24, 2022, a formal orientation program was held at Gulf Medical University (GMU) for the 2017 cohort of PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) students currently entering Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE).
Orientation session included:

- APPE Schedule and Moodle Management – Dr. Rizah, Preceptor
- Assessment in APPE – Dr. Dixon, Associate Dean Clinical
- APPE policies and guidelines – Dr. Syed, Acting Chair of Department of Pharmacy Practice
- COVID rules – Dr. Jumana, Preceptor
- Use of UpTo Date in APPE – Dr. Ahmad El-Ouweini, Clinical Lecturer and Preceptor
- Rotation-specific Orientation by preceptors.
