On 29th September 2022, 5th-year APPE students Hafsa Shah, Sara Nadeem, Malak Mohammed, Sajjad Abdulridha, and Bibi Nilofer participated in a lecturing activity for Semester 1 PharmD students as part of their Academic Pharmacy APPE rotation. The title of the session: “People Skills: How to Work With Others & Time Management”.

The focus of the session was on how possessing good collaborative skills is an invaluable asset in a pharmacy student’s academic life and career. APPE students shared with their peers their own experiences of working in groups. They emphasized the importance of being a collaborator during learning or as a healthcare professional. During the session, an ice-breaker activity was designed for students to promote collaboration and effective teamwork among students.

One of the APPE students, Malak Mohammad who was also a part of organizing the lecturing activity said, “I learned a lot in this insightful session where I was able to comprehend the importance of working as part of a group and how to manage it”. Hafsa Shah, another student who was also a part of organizing the event said “It was an amazing opportunity for me to organize this session. I learned a lot about managing students and giving out a lecture in a way that keeps them interested and engaged”.


At the end of the session, Ms. Bibi Nilofer shared with her peers tips on Time Management as an important study skills approach. During the session, Ms. Bibi demonstrated various tools and aids college students can use to manage their time including time circles, time planners, use of google calendar to follow up and complete tasks on time.
