Gulf Medical University (GMU) proudly celebrated World Water Day 2025 with enthusiastic participation from all six colleges, coming together to highlight the critical importance of this year’s theme: “Glacier Preservation” on 22nd April 2025.
Recognizing that glaciers are vital to sustaining life — providing essential meltwater for drinking, agriculture, industry, clean energy production, and healthy ecosystems — GMU organized a day full of educational and engaging activities. Students and faculty from the College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, College of Health Sciences, and Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare actively contributed to the event’s success.
The celebration featured interactive exhibitions, poster presentations, and student-led initiatives focusing on the significance of protecting glaciers to safeguard water security for future generations. Discussions emphasized the urgent need to combat climate change and highlighted practical solutions for preserving these vital natural resources.
Through collaborative efforts, GMU re-affirmed its commitment to promoting environmental awareness, sustainability education, and global responsibility among its academic community. The World Water Day 2025 celebration served not only as a platform for learning but also as an inspiring call to action for all participants to champion environmental stewardship.
Gulf Medical University extends heartfelt appreciation to all the colleges, students, and faculty who made this meaningful event a memorable success.
