Report on World Health Day 2025

Health is not merely the absence of disease but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. A strong beginning in life—right from prenatal care to early childhood and adolescence—lays the foundation for a healthy and productive future. In this context, World Health Day 2025, observed globally on April 7, brings renewed attention to this vital link through its inspiring theme: “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.” This theme underscores the need to invest in early health interventions and preventive care, ensuring that every individual, regardless of background, can lead a healthy life.

World Health Day

To commemorate World Health Day, the BSN students at College of Nursing collaborated with Nursing Team of Thumbay University Hospital, Ajman and organized a meaningful event at the OPD area of Thumbay University Hospital, Ajman. The event aimed to promote awareness about the importance of maternal, neonatal, and child health, and to advocate for preventive measures and timely healthcare access for a healthier tomorrow.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Fozi Abozaid Dakilah, Medical Director and Consultant Neonatologist who highlighted the importance of early health interventions and the role of nurses in nurturing the roots of a healthy community. His address emphasized that ensuring a “healthy beginning” in the early stages of life is a shared responsibility among healthcare providers, educators, and families alike.

Key highlights of the program included poster presentations and parental counseling sessions by Semester 8 BSN students focusing on the journey from prenatal care to adolescence and the significance of early health interventions.

Faculty members, hospital staff, students, and patients actively participated, making the event lively and impactful.
