BSN Year 3, Semester 6 students from College of Nursing, Gulf Medical University along with 2 faculty participated in a historic event at MBRU University, Dubai on 31st January 2024. The event aimed to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest number of citizen pledging to donate their organs.
The initiative was organized as part of the HAYAT program to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation and to encourage more individuals to become registered organ donors. The event brought together students, faculty members, and members of the community to unite in support of this noble cause. The participants were briefed on the significance of organ donation and its potential to save countless lives. They were also provided with information on how to register as organ donors and the impact their decision could have on those in need of life-saving transplants. By participating in this Guinness World Record initiative, they have not only set an example for others but have also contributed to a cause that has the potential to bring hope and healing to numerous individuals in need.

The participation of BSN students in this Guinness World Record initiative is a significant milestone in the journey towards promoting organ donation and creating a healthier, more compassionate society.
Totally 32 students along with two faculty from CON, GMU participated in the Hayat Organ donation awareness program. Khaleej Times in its report on this Historical moment of creating world record of being the most number of organ donors in a single hour; acknowledged the participation of GMU students with two students photographs pledging and motivating like-minded youth of UAE. Participation in this outstanding event is a source of inspiration and pride for the students of CON, GMU.
