First Aid Awareness Training Program

Gulf Medical University and IFRC (International Federation of Red Cross) in a joint venture conducted a session on 22nd May 2024 on “First Aid Awareness Training” for 60 bus drivers of India International School, Sharjah.

Experience-based first-aid training as well as focused approach on knowledge and skills, was the highlight of this session for driver’s whose awareness and timely response can help to reduce the percentage of serious injuries and damages in school children.

This session was designed to provide hands-on knowledge on topics like recovery position, bleeding, fracture, impaled object, choking and convulsions etc. The participants were provided with the opportunity to practice the skills.

Dr. Sija Binoy, Faculty of College of Nursing was the trainer in the session and two students of third year BSN also accompanied the trainer. The participants expressed their happiness and joy for being a part of this important session. The school authorities also appreciated the efforts taken by GMU to educate the drivers on the vital topics which they commonly face in the school.
