The second International Interprofessional Case Competition (I2C2) kick started on Sunday 11th September 2022 with an orientation session. There were around 30 students from 8 International institutions. It is an annual multi-institutional event where students from different healthcare professions work together virtually in small teams with learners across professions, institutions and countries to compete in solving clinical cases over 5 weeks. The current year participating institutes were: Gulf Medical University, UAE, Misr International University, Egypt, Qatar University, Qatar, Saint Louis University, USA, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, USA, University of Pretoria, South Africa, Virginia Commonwealth University, USA and Washington State University, USA.

During the session, the students had the opportunity to meet their international team members randomly selected as an Interprofessional group, start initial discussion over their case in breakout room to get ready to work collaboratively over the forth coming 5 weeks to solve the clinical case. The different teams presented their reflections & videos to a panel of judges in a live session with Question & Answer session.

TEAM 4 demonstrated a committed interprofessional collaboration and patient-centered care through initiatives and engagement in the activity. The judges were impressed with the case analysis videos and each member’s performance during the live Q&A session.
We take this opportunity to congratulate Ms. Shaikhah Abdullah Binalshaai for her success in the second I2C2 and appreciate all her efforts put forward for this competition as a Nursing student and bring laurels to the College and the University.
