Memorandum of Understanding: College of Nursing, Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE & Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Medicine & Health Sciences (RCSI), Dublin, Ireland

College of Nursing, GMU witnessed an important milestone in signing an MOU with the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery, (RCSI) Ireland. This event implies a significant partnership in global healthcare and medical education which seeks to establish and promote the development of Research, Education and Professional Development.  The event took place on 31st May 2024 in the Board Room at the Gulf Medical University.

Prof. Selva Titus Chacko, the Dean of the CoN, GMU welcomed the guests Dr. Mary Boyd, Dean of Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery RCSI, Prof. Mark White, the Executive Dean, Ms. Mary Godfrey the Vice Dean & Prof. Michael Shannon, Dean Emeritus.

The guests had a tour around GMU and its facilities. e.g. Center for Simulation and Health Care (CASH) & Office of Examinations and the Testing Center.

The guests visited Thumbay University Hospital, Ajman; a 350 bedded parent hospital of GMU and interacted with Ms. Nancy Justina Mendonca, the Group Chief Nursing Officer, Health Care Division, Thumbay Group.

The RCSI officials met Prof. Hossam Hamdy, the Chancellor, GMU and Prof. Manda Venkatramana, the Vice Chancellor, Academics and met with the Deans of all the Colleges of GMU.

Prof. Mark White, the Executive Dean, shared briefly on the various activities of the Faculty of the Nursing RCSI, followed by which Prof Hossam Hamdy gave a brief overview of GMU.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Selva Titus Chacko, Dean, CoN, GMU and Dr. Mary Boyd, Dean and Prof. Mark White, Executive Dean of Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, RCSI.

This collaboration reflects a commitment to advancing healthcare education and research on a global scale, ultimately benefiting both institutions and the broader healthcare community.
