World Autism Day is observed on the 2nd of April every year. At Gulf Medical University, Autism Day celebration was organized on the 8th of April 2019 with an objective to increase awareness of the significance of Autism syndrome for individuals and the community. It highlighted the challenges of those trying to understand the often-misunderstood syndrome and cope with a condition that manifests itself in a wide variety.
Students organized a variety of activities showcasing that people affected by Autistic syndrome can be very talented in a particular field and may go on to be very successful academically and in their chosen work environment. Wear Blue was the theme for the day and the campus was an ocean of blue on 2nd April.
