
College of Nursing, GMU conducted a Career advising session for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing students on 21st March 2019.
Students from all the semesters of BSN program attended the session. The Dean of the College addressed the students and talked about identifying their academic and career goals and assisting them in developing an academic plan to achieve them. Professor Reetha also spoke about the wide scope of nursing and different roles of the nurse in a variety of health care settings.

This motivated the students to select careers apart from the traditional hospital set up.
The session was carried forward by Dr. Kandasamy, Asst. Prof, College of Nursing. He spoke about the various professional career pathways in nursing. Also highlighted the expanded and extended role of a nurse in the global scenario.

Students had queries related to various nursing roles and their licensure requirements in the country.
The session was followed by an announcement that Thumbay Hospital, Ajman was recognized by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, UAE for training nursing interns.


The Career Advising session concluded with group photo of students and staff. The session was impactful and received positive feedback from the students.
