The first Annual Nursing Informatics Conference was organized by the Emirati Nurses Association with the theme “Advancing Nursing Informatics in the UAE: Shaping the Future of Healthcare,” which was held on January 18, 2025, at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), Abu Dhabi. Two faculty members and 29 students from CoN, GMU participated and benefited from the conference.

This pioneering event highlighted the pivotal role of informatics in revolutionizing nursing practice, education, and healthcare delivery in the UAE.
The objectives of the conference were to explore the integration of informatics into nursing practice to improve patient care, discuss advancements in nursing informatics and their impact on the future of healthcare, and promote collaboration among healthcare professionals and institutions to leverage technology for better outcomes.

The conference featured an impressive line-up of distinguished speakers and panelists who provided valuable insights on key topics. It opened with a compelling keynote address on the pivotal role of nursing informatics in shaping the future of global healthcare. This was followed by a dynamic panel discussion that examined ways to bridge the gap between technology and clinical practice, showcasing innovative strategies for integrating technological advancements into real-world clinical applications.
The conference garnered an enthusiastic response, attracting participants from Gulf Medical University, Sharjah University, and a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including nurses, educators, and informatics specialists from various institutions across the UAE.

Attendees expressed high levels of satisfaction with the conference organization, content, and opportunities for professional growth. Many emphasized the need for regular events to keep pace with the rapidly evolving field of healthcare informatics.
The first ‘Annual Nursing Informatics Conference’ marked a significant milestone in advancing the role of technology in nursing within the UAE. The Emirati Nurses Association is to be commended for this initiative, which sets a strong foundation for continued progress in the field.
