The Fellowship of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery in Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is awarded to candidates in recognition of outstanding work and exceptional leadership in their profession. One of the most prestigious professional qualifications to be awarded to nurses and midwives, is becoming a Fellow allows you to join an extensive professional network across the world and avail of numerous research and networking event opportunities.
Established in 1974, the RCSI Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery plays a pivotal role in leading and supporting the development of the nursing and midwifery professions nationally through the delivery of transformative learning experiences, impactful research in the areas of professional development and supporting the contribution of nurses and midwives to healthcare and societal well-being. The Faculty continues to expand its strategic impact nationally and internationally through exciting collaborations and alliances with leaders, researchers and influencers from local and global organizations.

Fellowship Ad Eundem in 2024 was awarded to 7 members around the world in recognition of outstanding work and/or exceptional leadership in the profession of nursing/midwifery or a related science; those who have given significant service to the profession or to the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery; and those who have positively influenced and impacted on health and society. This fellowship was conferred during a ceremony to Prof. Selva Titus Chacko, Dean, College of Nursing held on 9th December 2024 in Dublin, Ireland.

The Fellowship of Examination is open to nursing personnel, from any jurisdiction and from any scope of practice – clinical, research, education, leadership/management – and from any clinical specialty, from primary to tertiary care and across the lifespan. Five faculty of College of Nursing were awarded the prestigious Fellowship in Nursing and Midwifery by RCSI in Ireland. Dr. Sija Binoy, Dr. Soma Ibrahim Ali, Dr. Soney M. Varghese, Dr. Beryl Juliet Sam and Dr. Mary Walton were conferred during the ceremony held on 09th December 2024 in Dublin, Ireland.

The fellowship represents a remarkable achievement in the professional career of the faculty members from the College of Nursing, while also bringing immense pride to the institution. This recognition further solidifies GMU’s College of Nursing as a distinguished leader in nursing and midwifery education.
