GMU-IVPN Students Club Organizes Interprofessional Breast Cancer Community Engagement Activity

On November 6, 2024, the GMU-IVPN Student Club, one of the Students Clubs in the College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Health Sciences, and College of Nursing, organized an impactful interprofessional Breast Cancer Awareness event at Gulf Medical University. This event aimed to enhance awareness of breast cancer by integrating perspectives across various healthcare fields. The GMU-IVPN Student Club Executive Team, Salama Alhammadi, Ananya Naik, Karina Grace Dsouza, and Ghina Ayman Baghdadi, 4th year  pharmacy students, actively contributed to the success of this interprofessional initiative.

The event featured a comprehensive series of educational sessions designed to empower both students and faculty with valuable insights into breast cancer prevention, early detection, treatment options, and patient care. The GMU-IVPN Student Club team emphasized various therapeutic options.

As part of the college’s mission to foster health education and support interprofessional collaboration, this Breast Cancer Awareness event not only expanded attendees’ understanding of breast cancer but also highlighted the importance of a united healthcare community in battling one of the most prevalent cancers affecting women worldwide. The event served as an inspiring example of how collaborative efforts across various healthcare fields can enhance patient care and promote public health.
