GMU College of Pharmacy Participates as a Platinum Sponsor and Exhibitor at the Global IPSF Career Fair and Exhibition

The College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University (GMU) had a strong presence at the First Virtual Global IPSF Career Fair and Exhibition as a Platinum sponsor and exhibitor. The event provided a platform for pharmacy students and recent graduates from all over the world to come together for two days focused on career development and advice.

At the Opening Ceremony, Prof. Sherief Khalifa, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at GMU, delivered a Keynote Speech. His speech highlighted the importance of career development and the role of pharmaceutical education in shaping the future of the industry.

Prof. Sherief Khalifa also participated as a panelist in the panel discussion titled “Continuing Education Panel: Programs Abroad.” This panel discussed the benefits and opportunities associated with pursuing further education in pharmacy-related fields abroad, while he highlighted the 3 Post-graduate programs that GMU College of Pharmacy offers.

In addition, the program directors for postgraduate studies at GMU’s College of Pharmacy, namely Dr. Ahmed Thabet (Master of Drug Discovery and Development), Dr. Syed Wasif (Master of Clinical Pharmacy), and Dr. Dixon Thomas (Postgraduate PharmD), participated as exhibitors in the GMU Booth. They showcased the unique merits and growth prospects associated with pursuing postgraduate studies at GMU’s College of Pharmacy. This gave attendees an opportunity to learn more about the programs and understand how they can enhance their career prospects in the field of pharmacy.

Moreover, Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Clinical Lecturer and Clinical Pharmacist at the Pharmacy Practice Department of GMU’s College of Pharmacy, conducted an interactive workshop titled “Mastering the Art of Networking: Unlocking Connections for Professional Success.” This workshop likely provided valuable insights and practical tips on how to build professional networks in the pharmaceutical industry.

During this event, 38 speakers presented in English, French and Spanish languages, there were more than 1200 attendees coming from more than 90 countries around the globe.

Overall, the College of Pharmacy at GMU had a strong presence at the event, actively engaging with students and professionals from around the world, and promoting their educational programs and expertise in the field.

Dean Khalifa commented: “The IPSF Career Fair was an opportunity for the GMU College of Pharmacy to provide guidance and opportunities for pharmacy students and junior pharmacists as they decide on their first or next career move. It was great to interact with highly motived and enthusiastic pharmacy students from around the world”.
