On 27th October 2022, GMU Pharmacy Students’ Association (GPSA) organized an interactive event for Breast Cancer Month. The aim of this event was to raise awareness of the importance of self-checking the breasts and routine mammograms for women that require it. Additionally, there were posters that illustrated free mammogram centers all over the United Arab Emirates.
The students spoke to patients at Thumbay University Hospital regarding breast cancer and answered their questions, as well as the GPSA team conducted a fun quiz with prizes! The event as well illustrated the need for further public awareness regarding cancer and other common diseases, awareness which GPSA hopes to cultivate in further events!
