On the 28th and the 29th of September 2022, Dr. Muhammad Al-Shorbagy, Associate Dean Academic at the College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University participated in the workshop on: “Building an Effective Academic Advising System in Support of Student Success”. The workshop was organized by the Center for Learning Innovations & Customized Knowledge Solutions (CLICKS) and was delivered by Dr. Narimane Hadj-Hamou, founder and CEO, CLICKS, UAE.
Driven by the enriched participation of educators form local and regional institutions, the workshop introduced new concepts in academic advising with focus on addressing student needs while developing a system that ensures a streamlined, well evaluated and autonomous academic advising process across the institution.
Dr. Al-Shorbagy commented: “The workshop provided insights on the use of technology in academic advising and how it can drive the assessment of the whole process. Best practices were showcased whether on local, regional, or international levels. As a participant, I gained and exchanged knowledge and best practices with colleagues and I am sure this will drive positive change in our institutions.
