On May 01, 2021, APPE students started a structured peer mentoring program for early clinical exposure to year 1 & 2 students of the PharmD program. APPE students are assigned mentees from PharmD year 1 & 2 in Spring semesters. This peer learning / mentoring relationship among PharmD students has positive effects on both mentors and mentees.

Vice Chancellor for Quality and Global Engagement and Dean College of Pharmacy Prof. Sherief Khalifa commented: “We are excited about our peer mentoring program and we can see how the junior students are becoming more engaged in the learning process as they learn first hand from their seniors and look forward to the years ahead with enthusiasm. The senior students feel more responsible and accountable as they are now mentoring their juniors while demonstrating the “Educator” learning outcome of the curriculum.
