BSN Orientation Program – 2020

The goal of an Orientation Program is to ensure that all the newly inducted students of any discipline will receive consistent information regarding the Program, its objectives, History, Organization structure and its functions. This helps the freshman batch to get familiarized and acclimatized with the vision, mission and philosophy of the Program.

An orientation program was organized by College of Nursing to welcome the freshman batch of BSN students on 20th September 2020 to introduce them to each other in the class as well as to the College and the University at large. The program kick started with a video, showcasing the inception and diverse nature of of Gulf Medical University. This was followed by a welcome address by the Dean, Prof. Selva Titus Chacko. She welcomed the entire novice and budding students to the College of Nursing. She also briefed on the fascinating and challenging career of Nursing which they have chosen.

Ms Vimala Varatharajan, Semester Coordinator provided orientation to the courses and clarified all the doubts related to the Program, academic requirements, and examinations. Students Affairs Department was represented by Ms. Burcu Aydin, Associate Director, who oriented the students on various student engagement activities, clubs and facilities available for the students in GMU. Library ‘being an ocean of information’ was oriented by Mr. Daies Idiculla, Librarian; about learning resources facilities, services and e-learning resources. Mr. Suraj Sebastian, E-learning manager explained about the e-learning platform, Moodle and oriented about the various Online mode of teaching and learning methods utilized in the University. Ms. Sija Binoy, Lecturer, acquainted the students about campus etiquette.
