“Graduate Studies in UK” was the title of the very interactive and informative Career Advising session held on 23rd November 2020 for the BBMS program students. The speaker was Ms. Aishwarya Nair, BBMS program Alumna (Class of 2019). Ms. Aishwarya Nair, after graduating from the BBMS program, joined the Master of Science in Cancer Cellular and Molecular Biology at the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, UK. She graduated with distinction in her Master program in August 2020 and is currently employed as a Research Technologist in the same university.
The discussion began with Aishwarya telling the students to be active from year1 and keep adding all their co-curricular activities and elective training into a portfolio. She also advised students to take advantage of the opportunities offered by GMU for training beyond the curriculum and gain as much experience and exposure to areas of their interest as possible. She gave a brief idea of the timeline for applying to master programs in UK, types of programs, the process of admission and the approximate cost of education.
It was a truly informative session which was found very useful by students as evidenced by the poll taken at the end of the session where 100% found it useful and 100% wanted more such sessions.
