Dr. Sovan Bagchi is a Professor in Physiology in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Gulf Medical University since 2016. He acquired his Ph.D. degree in 1998 from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, India. He is actively involved in teaching Physiology in different programs and supervising student’s research projects. He is an active researcher with publications in internationally acclaimed journals like the Journal of physiology, Toxicon, etc. His current areas of research are cardiovascular responses of aerobic exercises and Disorders of autonomic nervous systems.
Before joining Gulf medical University, he has taken up many academic positions in Libya, Ethiopia, and India. He has been awarded the best teacher in Hawassa University, Ethiopia for his academic excellence.
He is a recipient of a research fellowship from the University Grants Commission, India, and the Indian National Science Academy.
He is a reviewer of research articles of many peer-reviewed journals and Ph.D. theses of different universities. He is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Life science and Pharma Research.
