Dr. Shimaa Saeed is an Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Embryology in biomedical sciences department, College of Medicine at Gulf Medical University. Dr. Shimaa Saeed completed her M.B.B.S degree from Ain Shams University (ASU), College of Medicine, Egypt, in 2011, graduating with a grade of Excellent with Honor. Building on her foundational medical training, she further pursued specialized education in Anatomy and Embryology. She obtained a master’s degree in Anatomy and Embryology from ASU in 2016, followed by a Ph.D. in Anatomy and Embryology from the same institution in 2022. Her Ph.D. qualification has been officially recognized through an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in the UAE.

In addition to formal academic qualifications, Dr. Shimaa Saeed holds a Total Quality Management (TQM) diploma in health care from the American University in Cairo, completed in June 2013. This training further equips her with the skills necessary to contribute to the continuous improvement of educational and healthcare services.

Her research passion lies in exploring the therapeutic potential of stem cells, and her recent research paper discussed the effect of stem cells in the treatment of skin psoriasis. This work aims to contribute to the development of more effective, regenerative therapies for chronic skin conditions, demonstrating the commitment to advancing both medical science and patient care.

Known for her excellent teaching and interpersonal skills, Dr. Shimaa Saeed actively participates in weekly PBL sessions, provides personalized academic advising, and engages with students to enhance their learning experiences. She also contributes to the department’s development through participation in university committees, professional activities, and various scholarly initiatives.
