Prof. Nelofar Sami Khan is currently Heading the Dept. of Biomedical Sciences, College of Medicine. She has been associated with Gulf Medical University for more than 20 years as a faculty of Biochemistry. She was awarded a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India, in 1998. She received a gold medal for her master’s and trained in Health Professions Education also. Apart from being an excellent teacher, she has guided Graduate and Undergraduate students in their research projects and has several publications in peer-reviewed international journals. She has varied research interests, including clinical chemistry, KAP studies for NCDs, and medical education, specifically interprofessional education. She is a recipient of the Outstanding Teacher award at GMU and the Best Poster award at the 14th Global Obesity Meeting.
Prof. Nelofar is Chairing the Admissions Committee and the Mentorship Program for the College of Medicine, GMU. She is also an active member of the College Council, Curriculum Committee, Assessment Committee, Faculty Recruitment, and Website Committee. She was also the Year Coordinator for the MBBS Program for over six years.
