Prof. Jayadevan Sreedharan is a distinguished academic and researcher in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, currently serving as Professor at the College of Medicine and Director of the Thumbay Institute of Population Health at Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE. He also serves as the Chairperson of GMU’s Community Engagement Committee and as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arizona, USA. He holds dual PhDs in Biostatistics and Epidemiology and has built an outstanding career integrating teaching, research, and academic leadership in public health.

He is a Fellow of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), reflecting his global recognition in the field. Prof. Jayadevan has an exceptional research profile, with more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and conference presentations. His research spans non-communicable diseases, cancer epidemiology, tobacco control, advanced epidemiological methods, and health professions education, contributing significantly to evidence-based public health practice.

In addition to his scholarly contributions, he has authored and co-authored academic books, including the Elsevier publication A Practical Guide for Medical and Health Professions Teachers, as well as works on case-control studies and public health legislation. He is actively involved in mentoring and capacity building, serving as a recognized PhD guide in Epidemiology, Statistics, and Biostatistics, and has supervised numerous postgraduate and doctoral students.

Prof. Jayadevan has also played a key role in academic program development, accreditation processes, and international collaborations. He has secured research funding and contributed to multi-institutional projects, further strengthening his global academic engagement.

His active participation in international conferences, workshops, and training programs highlights his commitment to continuous professional development and knowledge dissemination. Through his leadership at the Thumbay Institute of Population Health, he continues to advance research, community engagement, and public health education in the region.
