Professor Dr. Faten Mahmoud Ali Diab has been a professor of medical physiology since 2008 in the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University.  In 2020, she joined the Gulf Medical University in the United Arab Emirates.

  • She has been a member of the Scholar Rx advisory board since 2021.
  • She has been an American Physiological Society member (APS) since 2017.
  • She has been a member of the Physiological Society (UK) since 2017.
  • She has been a member of the African Association’s Physiological Society since 2012.
  • She has been one of the board member professors in the Egyptian Society of Physiological Sciences since 2012 (ESPS).
  • She was one of the board judges of the Promotion Scientific Committee of Physiology in Egypt.
  • She participated on a jury in the promotion scientific committee of physiology at the Esraa University, Jordon.
  • She was the head of the physiology department in the faculty of medicine at Ain Shams University for 6 years (August 2010 – July 2016).

She is interested in cardiovascular physiology research, especially in the performance of isolated hearts, cardiomyopathy, and vascular physiology. She is greatly interested in attending Physiology conferences and physiology workshops. The first international conference she attended was the International Union of Physiological Societies Conference (IUPS) 2013 in Birmingham, UK. The next was the Society of Neuroscientists of Africa Conference (SONA) 2015 in Durban, South Africa. The next step was to the Federation of the Asian and Oceanian Physiological Conference (FAOPS) 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. The marvelous step was with her students to the IMSPQ (Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz) in Indonesia in 2016, while she was the head of the physiology department. By the end of 2016, she attended the Australian Physiological Society (AUPS) in Adelaide, Australia. In 2017, she attended the IUPS in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a medical education teaching workshop held in Buzios from 5 – 8/ 2017. The next step was to go to London again to attend the Euro-physiology Conference 2018. In Africa, to Rwanda with the African Association of Physiological Sciences (AAPS), the 4th education workshop “Physiology education in Africa and other resources – challenged regions: reflections on the current Practices and charting the way forward that held Rwanda, 2 – 4 December 2018. A far step to Japan, to share in the 9th FAOPS congress, Mach 28-31, 2019, in Kobe, Japan. During Covid years, in 2020, she attended the online virtual Future Physiology Conference in London, UK, and in 2022, the online virtual IUPS physiology conference was held in Beijing, China. In 2023, she attended the annual Physiology conference “Physiology 23” in Harrogate, UK. Also, in 2023, she started her Master’s Degree in Medical Health Professional Education (MHPE) at GMU and became a member of the International Association for Health Professions Education “AMEE.” In December 2024, she got a Training Diploma in Artificial intelligence upon the recommendation of the International Academy for Leadership and Management.
