Dalia Gaber is an associate professor of Medical Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, at College of Medicine, Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE. Formerly, at Faculty of Medicine, Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt. She was also the department supervisor (September 2017-August 2022), Vice Director of the Medical Education Unit & FAIMER fellow.
She graduated from Faculty of Medicine, Ain shams University. She has been working since graduation at MUST University till 2017. Dalia Gaber has done her postgraduate studies and gained the MD degree from Faculty of Medicine Ain shams University in 2011.
Though out her work as a Biochemist, she started out her research career by working in the field of purification of natural snake venom toxins to study the toxicity and genomics of compounds that can be of pharmacological application. Working with the team of natural toxins, led by Prof Dr. Farid El-Asmer, she completed her MSc and MD thesis, followed by publishing this work in 2006 and 2012 respectively. The MD thesis work was also published in a book by Lambert Academic Publishing in March 2012.
In performing her postdoctoral research work, Dalia collaborates with colleagues from different disciplines, and cancer genomics is on the top of her research interests. She participated as a speaker in international conferences: The international conference of surgical pathology in Berlin, Germany, 2019 & SIMEC conference of Medical Education in KSA, 2022.
Medical Education comes on top of Dalia’s study and research interests. She has started by taking the basic course of Medical Education, provided by Kasr Al-Aini Medical School in 2018. Since then, she has been applying the things she learned with her medical students at Helwan and MUST Universities. This work helped her a lot to start her research work in Medical Education but she still wants to learn more and gain more experience in this important field. So, in 2020, Dalia has joined a fellowship in Medical Education provided by the FAIMER institute at Ain shams Faculty of Medicine.
