On October 9, 2019, the College of Pharmacy faculty and students enjoyed an inspiring and interactive presentation given by Dr. Ahmed El Banna, Co-founder and innovation director (EMEA), ThoughtFire, Dubai, UAE.
Dr. El Banna is a healthcare management consultant who served the Healthcare industry from multiple angles and gained a unique perspective throughout 14 years of experience. He worked as a consultant for the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) to develop innovative approaches for transformation and change management. He also consulted for Johnson & Johnson and provided creative solutions for their re-sterilization challenges. He has been an in-house expert for multiple years working as a therapeutic-area specialist at Pfizer and other blue-chip multinationals.
Dr. El Banna’s talk was titled “Three things about healthcare I wish I’ve known before graduation!” He spoke about the different career shifts he experienced during his 14 years after graduation and provided very valuable career advice and insight into the UAE healthcare system to the young generation of health professions students at Gulf Medical University.
