PharmD Alumni Share License Experience in USA

Nadia Khoury, one of the very first PharmD graduates from GMU – Class of 2013, recently obtained her US license to practice pharmacy in New Jersey.

She returned back to UAE to visit her alma mater and to talk to College of Pharmacy students about her experience after graduation and to share the stories of her journey with both the students and her former professors. She spoke in length about the US licensing process and the opportunities for foreign pharmacy graduates in the USA.

Nadia spoke about her years in GMU College of pharmacy and how the PharmD program was instrumental in preparing her to be eligible for foreign licensure.

Nadia said: It was very nostalgic having to walk the halls of GMU once again and shaking hands with my previous professors who helped me get to the place that I am at right now. My advice to the current PharmD students: “There is light at the end of the tunnel and the world will soon be your oyster with hard work and dedication. Don’t give up. Work hard, study well and thank your professors for their sacrifices and commitment to your future”

Dr. Sherief Khalifa commented: It is good to see our alumni coming back to visit us and talk to our students about their experience after graduation. Giving back to future pharmacists and showing appreciation to those who contributed to your education and helped shape your future is certainly something to be commended.
