
On Thursday, December 27, 2018, faculty members from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, met with fourth year PharmD students to discuss the proposed Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences program. Similar information sessions are scheduled with all PharmD students.
Dr. Ibrahim Elsayed, Associate Dean-Academic, started the meeting with an introduction about the program, the study plan and program objectives. He also discussed with students the nanotechnology in drug delivery research field, the possible career paths for the program graduates and how it can open doors for future opportunities. Dr. Ahmed Al-Abd, Associate Professor of Pharmacology, talked about the pharmacology research track of the program. Dr. Ahmed Thabet, Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry explained the drug design and synthesis track of the program.
The major part of the meeting was dedicated to questions and answers. At the end, the students completed a survey about the program. The purpose of the survey was to determine their interest and demand for the program.
