Gulf Medical University’s Dr. Ahmed Al-Abd Condcts a Flowcytometry workshop at NAWAH Scientific in Egypt

On August 24-25th, 2021, Dr. Ahmed Al-Abd, Professor of Pharmacology and Associate Dean Academic of the College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University delivered a technical, hands-on training workshop for the utilization of Flowcytometry in Drug Discovery field at NAWAH Scientific, Egypt.

The workshop was attended by 16 Faculty members, Teaching Assistants and Graduate students from several Egyptian universities such as The American University of Cairo (AUC), Misr International University (MIU), Cairo University, Alexandria University, Sadat University, and others. The attendees were from diverse scientific backgrounds including pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, phytochemistry, pathology, molecular biology, and biomedical engineering.

Workshop participants learned first-hand how to solve technical problems facing them during their work with flowcytometry.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Abd commented: “It is very encouraging to interact with all these diverse scientific specialties in a hands-on training event. I believe it was a learning experience for all if us. I am also glad that the Memorandum of understanding between GMU and NAWAH Scientific has started to show some valuable fruits”.
