Gulf Medical University PharmD students participate in The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) 2019

FIP is a global body representing pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences worldwide. GMU College of Pharmacy students presented their research and explained it to their audience during the conference.

On Monday 23rd September and Tuesday 24th September 2019, final year PharmD students Dalia Al Saeedy and Kholoud Kotait presented their poster titled ‘Pattern of potential drug-drug interactions among outpatient prescriptions’, that was under the supervision of Dr. Subish Palaian. During the same time period, PharmD students Nourhan Hassan and Sara Al-Kium presented their poster titled ‘Comparison of cardiovascular risk reduction of various antihypertensive medication’, that was under the supervision of Dr.Kishore Ganana Sam and Dr. Seeba Zachariah.

On Wednesday 25th September and Thursday 26th September 2019, final year PharmD students Nourhan Khaled Hassan and Hisham Mohamed presented their poster titled ‘Statistical optimization of fluconazole nanovesicles for treatment of fungal rhinosinusitis’, that was under the supervision of Dr.Ibrahim Elsayed.

Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: We are delighted that FIP chose Abu Dhabi as a venue for this international conference. It was a great opportunity for our students to showcase their research and defend it before the international community. It was also a good opportunity for them to connect with pharmaceutical scientists as they plan for postgraduate studies after graduation.
