Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Clinical Lecturer at Gulf Medical University – College of Pharmacy and Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist at Thumbay University Hospital, was invited as a speaker at the UAE’s First National Pharmacist Conference. Dr. El Ouweini covered the evolving approaches to sedation and pain management in critically ill patients, focusing on the use of multimodal analgesia strategies and novel sedation agents in the ICU. The live presentation, attended by over 100 pharmacists and students from across the UAE, delivered key clinical pearls for using the analgesics and sedatives in different ICU settings through different case scenarios. Additionally, Dr. El Ouweini moderated a groundbreaking oncology/innovation/endocrinology pharmacotherapy session with 3 esteemed speakers in these fields. Also, Dr. El Ouweini was a member of the Conference’s Scientific Committee that selected top-notch experts in the field and crucial topics in pharmacy practice.
