An interprofessional seminar on diabetic pharmacotherapy was held on February 20, 2025, through a collaboration between Thumbay University Hospital and Gulf Medical University College of Pharmacy taking a lead. The event brought together healthcare professionals and students, including practitioners, interns, and senior students from Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy. The seminar emphasized teamwork in diabetes management, with all sessions featuring pharmacy and nursing or pharmacy and medicine experts co-presenting the content.

The discussions covered the latest updates in diabetic care, with a strong focus on cardiovascular and kidney benefits in treatment decisions. A highly interactive session on diabetic diet and lifestyle set the stage, engaging participants in practical strategies for patient care. Throughout the seminar, the interdisciplinary approach ensured a holistic understanding of diabetes management, integrating multiple perspectives to enhance decision-making.

The event concluded with real patient case discussions, particularly on diabetic ketoacidosis, allowing attendees to apply their knowledge in clinical scenarios. This collaborative learning experience strengthened interprofessional communication and problem-solving skills among future and current healthcare providers.
