GMU PharmD Students Attend APPE 2020 Orientation program at SKMCA

On December 26, 2019, GMU Doctor of Pharmacy students attended their Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) orientation program in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman (SKMCA). Dr. Gary Evan Day welcomed students and provided practical tips to work at SKMCA.

Director of Shared Education, Training and Research at SKMCA Dr. Gary encouraged students to be involved in day-to-day pharmacy operations and learn the required attitudes, skills, and practice knowledge to become future pharmacists. Pharmacy leaders Dr. Johan and Dr. Bushra prepared a comprehensive plan for students to be trained in three hospitals in SKMCA. Students will participate in the ambulatory patient care process in the general hospital, diabetes center, and women & children hospital at SKMCA. Competent pharmacy preceptors at SKMCA is providing training to GMU PharmD students for the last three consecutive years.

GMU College of Pharmacy Dean Sherief Khalifa appreciated the SKMCA administration and pharmacy team for training PharmD students and congratulated the students on their achievement to enter APPE. It is a crucial time of the program when students transform to practitioners with direct patient care experiences.
