GMU PharmD student publishes her scholarly research in ‘Advances in Virology’

College of Pharmacy is proud to announce yet another student publication from Ms. Ruth Alex, a 4th year Pharm D student in the reputed journal ‘Advances in Virology’. This project was a part of scholarly series of the PharmD curriculum at the College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University. Scholarly series of the program runs over 5 semesters where the student has to plan, conduct and complete the research.

Ms. Ruth has conducted a retrospective cohort study among severe COVID-19 pneumonia patients who received tocilizumab under the supervision of Dr. Shabaz Mohiuddin Gulam.

Dean Khalifa commented: “It is great to see our PharmD students engaging in research projects and it is a time for celebration when the work is published. We are proud of our students and we know that they will lead the change in the pharmacy profession and make a difference in the lives of the patients they will serve.”
