GMU PharmD Graduate Serving the Community in Kenya and Providing Testimony for Her GMU Experience

Dr. Fovaziabanu Ahmed Jin completed her PharmD degree at Gulf Medical University (GMU) in 2019. Soon after graduation, she returned to her home country, Kenya, and became a qualified pharmacist.

Fovaziabanu took advantage of the full experience at GMU. This includes, almost a full academic year of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in GMU affiliated hospitals such as the Critical Care rotation at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Fovaziabanu has been serving as a Clinical Pharmacist at Malindi Sub-County Hospital as a clinical pharmacist for the last 7 months.

She recently sent us the following statement: “I am proud to say that skills I learned during my time in GMU are adapted in my everyday work.  GMU not only taught me knowledge and skills but also compassion for community and embracing diversity. Healthcare is not a narrow concept. It is a concept that requires passion, drive and energy. I would like to thank the Gulf Medical University team for the constant encouragement and words of wisdom toward me leading in my career in development in healthcare”

Dr. Fovaziabanu’s next career move will be to join a pharmacotherapy residency program in critical care.

We are very proud of you, Fovazia!
