GMU Faculty take the lead as specialty topic editors for “Frontiers in Pharmacology”

On April 29th, 2020, Dr. Ahmed Al-Abd, Associate Professor of Pharmacology – College of Pharmacy; Dr. Ibrahim Elsayed, Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics – College of Pharmacy; and Dr. Vinoth Kumar Lakshmanan – Associate Professor of Molecular Biology – Thumbay Research Institute of Precession Medicine Gulf Medical University were appointed as Guest Section Editors in “Frontiers in Pharmacology” Journal in collaboration with Dr. Mai Tolba – Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University; and Dr. Mahmoud El-Readi, Faculty of Medicine, Umm Al-Qura University. The Specialty Topic entitled “Modulation of Anti-Cancers’ Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics: A Tool for Developing Innovative Therapeutic Approaches”

The specialtytopicis hostedby the highly prestigious, Q1-ranked, ISI-indexed and peer reviewed Journal, “Frontiers in Pharmacology”- Impact Factor: 3.845; CiteScore: 3.92. In this Specialty Topic, manuscripts (Review as well Original Research articles) addressing intra-tumoral, as well as intracellular pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiling for anticancer drugs, are invited. Investigations related to metronomic therapy, solid tumor priming and overcoming pharmacokinetic hurdles with novel drug delivery systems are of special consideration in thisspecialty article collection.
