On the 16th of September, the College of Pharmacy contributed to the ‘Preceptorship Development Workshop’” organized by the College of Nursing Gulf Medical University & Emirates Health Services (EHS) Training and Development Centre. The program provides tanning for 200 EHS Registered nurses & 40 Thumbay hospital nurses with emphasis on their educational role as preceptors and role model practitioners. Dr. Eman El-labbad, Assistant Dean of Assessment and Evaluation, College of Pharmacy, at Gulf Medical University is presenting a weekly session on “Solving conflict & Problem-solving skills“.

The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Sherief Khalifa commented: “Preceptors play a pivotal role in the training of pharmacy, nursing and other health professions students. They are responsible for delivering 20% (or more) of the entire curriculum. They deliver the experiential education component of the curriculum which puts all prior learning into the proper context of practice in the workplace. We are looking forward to expanding this important initiative to include preceptor training for pharmacists in the very near future.”
