On June 9th, 2023, the College of Pharmacy hosted a career session that focused on Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM). The session featured Dr. Amal Yousif Abdalla, BPharm, MCP, PBM Governance Executive at GIG Insurance (Gulf) in Dubai, UAE. The title of her talk: “Pharmacy Benefit Management: The Journey of a Pharmacist in Health Insurance”.

The session provided valuable information on how pharmacists navigate the complexities of health insurance and contribute to optimizing medication therapy. Dr. Abdalla shed light on the diverse responsibilities and challenges that pharmacists face in managing prescription drug benefits and ensuring cost-effective yet high-quality care for patients.
