On Friday, December 8th, 2023, Dr. Rania AlKhani, a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist with a background in critical care, was the featured speaker in a career advising session titled “Clinical Pharmacy Career Advancement: Navigating Professional Development for Success.” The session was directed towards College of Pharmacy students and graduates.
Dr. AlKhani’s academic journey includes a B.Pharm, a master’s degree in healthcare management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (2014), and a Master of M.Pharm in Clinical Pharmacy from Dubai Pharmacy College in 2017. She holds certification in Anticoagulation Therapy Management for Pharmacists from the University of Florida.

During the session, Dr. Rania shared insights from her personal career path, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and following one’s passion. She delved into her career progression, recounting experiences as a pharmacist at the American Hospital and her current role as a pharmacy manager at the International Modern Hospital.
Dr. Rania emphasized on the importance of continuous education, professional certifications, and active participation in professional activities such as observationships, conferences, and volunteering.
The session concluded with a discussion engaging the audience in exploring potential career opportunities in clinical pharmacy and the pivotal role they can play in enhancing patients’ well-being.
