On March 20, 2022, Dr. Sherief Khalifa was a keynote speaker at the Sinai University International Conference on Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Research. His presentation was under the following title: “Leading the Change in Pharmacy Education: The Good, The Bad and The Difficult”.
The presentation focused on the urgent need to make changes in pharmacy education that will lead to changes and improvements in the practice of the pharmacy profession. The most important element in making changes in the current status is the human factor. It is the faculty, staff and the students who will drive the change in the right direction. It is all mentioned in the mission statement of every college of pharmacy that we will produce the best pharmacy graduates who will contribute effectively to patient care. Therefore, it is part of our accountability to society to lead the change towards an up-to-date education that will maximize the role of the pharmacist for better health and less suffering for the people we serve.
