Critical appraisal of clinical literature is a solid component of PharmD and MCP curriculum at Gulf Medical University. PharmD students have core courses on the research evaluation skills and evidence-based practice beginning from their early years and throughout the program. In APPE, the drug information rotation focuses on improving such skills wherein other rotations also they practice Journal Club activities and evidence-based approach in any case they intervene. MCP is not an exception; from year one, students are engaged in critical appraisal of research, application of research followed by a yearlong research project.
