College of Pharmacy participates in the 13th Annual Medical & Science Exhibition 2019

In the spirit of inspiring the young generation and spreading awareness on the pharmacy profession and the different pharmacy careers, College of Pharmacy, GMU hosted high school students from various districts attending the annual GMU Medical & Science Exhibition (MASE) of 2019. The event was held together with various GMU colleges on the 20th  & the 21st of November, 2019. The role of the pharmacist in collaborative patient care including Medication safety, Flu Vaccination and Pharmacy Management, as well as Sterile Compounding processes, were presented and explained to the attending students. High School students participated in several activities, entered into competitions with their peers and won prizes as they answered questions related to the pharmacy profession and to the health care needs of their communities.

GMU PharmD students, teaching assistants, preceptors and faculty engaged high school students in several pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice activities. The visiting students also had the opportunity to display and present their medical and science projects on antibiotic resistance, drug delivery systems, innovative drug therapies and much more. Faculty of the College of Pharmacy took part in assessing scoring these creative projects.
