
On November 15 and 16, Faculty, preceptors and master students from College of Pharmacy,Gulf Medical University attended the fifth IVPN conference organized by Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi under the theme “Ambulatory Care: Transition of Care”.
Masters in Clinical Pharmacy (MCP) candidate, Ms. Sahar Elnajjar presented her research at the conference as a poster
titled “ Choice of Premixed or Compounded Parenteral Nutrition: Comparison of National/Regional Guidelines”. For her Masters degree program, she has chosen the specialty of Parenteral Nutrition and IV admixture.

This international conference was an excellent platform for Sahar to present to an international audience with focus on parenteral nutrition. The workshops and presentations were very beneficial to faculty, teaching assistants and students as the pharmacy curriculum in GMU has changed to include sterile compounding specially after the recent inauguration of the new state of the are sterile compounding lab in the College of Pharmacy. This lab is the first in any College of Pharmacy in the UAE.
