Best Poster Award for Student Participants in Symposium on Evidence Based Clinical Practice

The College of Pharmacy in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi organized a Symposium on “Evidence-Based Clinical Practice” on May 5, 2018 at Dusit Thani hotel in Dubai, UAE. The symposium included a competition on ‘Critical appraisal of published literature’ in which two Gulf Medical University College of Pharmacy PharmD student groups Zainab Kaita, Fatiha Hammed (accompanied byAbduljalal Salisu andHarikrishnan Sreedeth), and Walaa Isam Al-Sharabati, M.Sc. student from College of Pharmacy, Al-Ain University of Science and Technology received best poster awards.

Each of the student competitors reviewed and critically appraised a published peer-reviewed journal article mentioning the ‘merits and demerits’ of the article and the ‘application of the article findings to local clinical practice,’ and answered the queries raised by the poster evaluators. The Dean and Faculty members of the College of Pharmacy congratulated the winners and commended all students for their effective participation.
