This is Mariam, a 4th year MBBS student of College of Medicine, Gulf Medical University, and it is an honor to announce that I won the ScholarRx Brick Builder Grant, and my proposal was highly recognized and appreciated by ScholarRx team which motivated me to create more upcoming bricks for different disciplines. In my preclinical years, ScholarRx was one of the best resources that I dealt with as it helped me to learn the topic in a simple and understandable manner, while providing the opportunity also to assess my knowledge by Q-max questions and remind us with what we learned through flash cards.

As a ScholarRx loyal user, I had noticed that some topics are not covered, especially in Forensic Medicine, which I consider it one of the most important prerequisites of all undergraduate students. All physicians, regardless of their specialties they embrace, can be exposed to deal with cases that carry different medicolegal aspects especially during internship, residency or as General Practitioners. Moreover, undergraduate medical students should have at least a general idea about some forensic medicine topics, such as asphyxia, which is my brick topic. Thanks to GMU for subscribing to ScholarRx which empowers medical students from different universities with tools that allow them to work as one team, to close the educational gap by believing that medical students are not just website users but also creators and innovators. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Prof.Manda for keeping all of us engaged, learning, and innovating. Finally, special thanks to my supervisors Dr. Lamis Nader, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Forensic Medicine, and Dr. Eman Hassan, Assistant Professor of Pathology, who will review my brick after I develop it.
