Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (BBMS) program offered by College of Medicine, Gulf Medical University has received the international accreditation from the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), United Kingdom.
Faculty, Staff and students of College of Medicine celebrated achievement of this quality milestone on October 1, 2019 at Gulf Medical University. The Chief Guest, Prof. Hossam Hamdy Chancellor of Gulf Medical University congratulated Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Vice Chancellor Academics and Dean College of Medicine, Prof. K. G. Gomathi, BBMS Program Director, Faculty & Students for achieving this quality milestone.
The accreditation team visit by the experts from the Institute of Biomedical Science UK to the Gulf Medical University took place in April 2019.
IBMS Accreditation provides recognition that the program conforms to the quality standards for biomedical science (QAA UK) and meets the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK academic requirements for registration as a biomedical scientist. Graduates with an IBMS-accredited degree are eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC as a biomedical scientist upon completion of the registration training portfolio in UK and getting their certificate of Competence.
