“World COPD Day” is celebrated on 20th November every year to raise awareness about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and improve patient care throughout the world. With this rationale, MBBS students organized an event on November 11, 2019 at the Gulf Medical University campus for the immediate community which included students and staff. Over a hundred students, faculty members and staff from the university attended this event.

The students organized various activities, games, talks and video presentations. It started with a PowerPoint presentation, where the students spoke about the pathophysiology, etiology and management of COPD. The audience enthusiastically participated in a fun and friendly quiz and gifts were given to the winners. Many interactive and exciting games, related to breathing activities ignited the inquisitiveness of participants and spread the awareness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the community.
