
Population Reference Bureau (PRB), a non-profit, demographic research and training organization in Washington, DC launched the new policy report on noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), entitled “Curbing the Epidemic of Noncommunicable Diseases in the Middle East and North Africa: Prevention among Young People is the Key.” The report, co-authored with researchers from the World Bank, highlights the importance of addressing the NCD risk factors among young people—tobacco and alcohol use, unhealthy diet, and physical inactivity—to curb the NCD epidemic across MENA.
