A chain of Thumbay Ambulatory Healthcare Clinics located in the community called Thumbay Clinics was established in all the Northern Emirates (Ajman, Sharjah, UAQ, Dubai, RAK). These clinics attract a large number of patients from the immediate community.
These community ambulatory healthcare facilities are extensively utilized for clinical training of first to third-year MBBS students in the preclinical years as part of ‘Early Clinical Exposure’ which is a highlight of the MBBS curriculum offered at GMU.
The early clinical exposure offered in the preclinical years facilitate vertical integration of basic sciences and clinical sciences in the MBBS program. The emphasis during these early clinical experience is on professionalism, communication skills, health promotion and disease prevention.
